Wine and celebration go together. And there aren’t many bigger causes for celebration than Thanksgiving. So it will soon be time to be choosing our wines to celebrate Thanksgiving in the best possible way.
However, picking the right wines to celebrate Thanksgiving isn’t as easy as it sounds.
Why not? There are two reasons it’s a difficult choice. First, there’s a huge range of possible food that can be served at the Thanksgiving meal. Second, unlike most other dinners, the Thanksgiving meal often isn’t served in a succession of courses, where an appropriate wine can be served with each course. More often all the food is put on the table at once, so people can fill up their plates from all the different dishes.

A new Multiplane is quite an investment - when I started this series of projects five years ago I was still under the spell of this tool and Stanley still had a couple of cheaper alternatives which could be recommended for grooving and cutting dados.
Five years on (running evening classes and producing the home learning course), how do I feel about them? The only successor to the Stanley/Record models that I knew was the Clifton - I have three old Stanleys and had one new Clifton; it was the best - too precious for sharing - so has moved on.

Having read some books on generation gap issues, and having had a couple of classes on the 4 different generations, it seems that it is a lot like studying different cultures. Understanding another culture starts with understanding our own culture and values first, and then comparing it with the other culture and seeing the difference. Of course, the characteristics presented here are some general tendencies, and may not represent every person. Not all Baby Boomers, Generation X, or Millenials are cut from a cookie-cutter mold, but many similar values and perspectives exist within each generation that can be condensed and used as a starting point for understanding.
